Hilarious Memories

J+M+J

When I was little, I can’t remember how old, Mom and Dad were asleep in the early morning and I was looking at a
Madeline book on the couch.  I woke them up by suddenly screaming excessively loud because I had gotten a paper cut.

Sleep Walking

J+M+J

I used to sleep talk and sleepwalk a lot. I still do. Once I woke Mom up to tell her John was driving real tractors and trucks in the basement without a licence. Another time I came to tell Mom something very important, but as soon as she was up I forgot what it was, but I knew I had to tell her. I was very frustrated because when I sleepwalk I can’t say a complete sentence, and I knew it sounded like I was asleep but I thought I wasn’t. Another time I woke up to find Dad carrying me to bed, but I could not figure out how I had gotten upstairs in the first place.

Some examples of talking in my sleep are the time I was dreaming that I was on top of a pole, standing horizontily on it by my nose! A bad man was about to set fire to the pole and I was yelling “No! No! NO!” When Mom came downstairs to see what was the matter, she touched me. I turned over and was quiet, as if I suddenly realized how silly I was being. Just yesterday I woke up in the morning and woke up Maria and told that we needed to pray. When she was confused that the only reason I could give was that Mom had said we needed to pray at eight o’ clock, I turned over saying, “Never mind!” What I had really meant was that Mom had said we should wake up at eight o’ clock.

When I sleepwalk, I usually can’t remember what happened or I can remember only part of it. Mom and
Dad tell me about it. They say that if they wake me up, I will cry.

Green it is!

 J+M+J

Mom decided that she would have the new school room green and the kitchen red.  Dad has finished painting the ceiling and installing the lights and light switches, and the carpet man is coning on Monday!

Decisions, Decisions! (Who said kids were slow?)

J+M+J

Dad has hired workers to finish mudding, sanding, and texturing the schoolroom.  The workers say that we should be able to paint by tomorrow night! But Mom has a dilema. She still can’t decide what color of paint she wants.  First she wanted green. Then Yellow, then red, then back to green again.  What color will it be?

Alexander and the Worm

J+M+J

When  Mom and I were planting flowers, Mom found a huge worm.  Knowing how Alex loves worms from previous planting experiences, Mom called him to her and gave him the worm.  Alex loved it, and every once in a while we would hear things like: ‘worm so happy’, ‘me p(l)way with worm’.  Soon it was time to go in. “Let the worm go home now Alex.” Said Mom. “No worm go home.” Responded Alex.  Mom allowed Alex to play with the worm a little longer.   Just before it was time to go in, Alex came up to Mom and asked “Me eat worm?”

“There Goes Baby”

J+M+J

Mom and I  were  planting the flowers we got for the front yard.  Josephwas sitting in the stroller eating graham crackers and drinking water out of a bottle. Suddenly he began to roll forwards down the driveway.  I casually thought to myself: I wonder if anything is in that stroller.  Then I remembered.  I yelled “There goes baby!” and ran after the stroller which had just reached the street by that time.  Fortunately there were no cars coming and I brought a giggling, smiling baby back to the previous positon of the stroller.  This time I put on the brakes.

Redoing the Front Flowers

J+M+J

Saturday Mom found some strawflowers (Oh! I l0ve those!) that were just her colors (red and yellow-orange) from the farmers market. She was currently looking for new flowers to make our front yard pretty. So she bought them. She let me pick out a white daisy-like thing, and a orange daisy-like thing, as well as a couple of dill plants (I am hoping for catterpillars.) We saw a Black Swallowtail, the same type of butterfly whose caterpillars eat dill.

Sunday after Mass, Mom, Maria, Joseph and I went to the nusery. We bought some orange coneflower and someIndian blanket

After an unsuccsesful attempt to grow carnivorous plants, I spent my birthday money from Mom and Dad on a venus fly trap and two pitcher plants. I will keep you updated on how they do.

John Paul Tries to Decipher his Heritage

J+M+J

One day, John Paul decided he wanted to know more about his ancestors.  Here is the rather interesting conversation he had with Mom.

JP: Mom, who borned Dad?

M: Grandma.

JP: Who borned Grandma?

>M: Great-Grandma

JP: Who borned Great-Grandma?

M: Great-Great-Grandma.

JP: Who borned Great-Great-Grandma?

M: Great-Great-Great-Grandma.

This type of thing went on until John Paul couldn’t remember how many greats Mom had used. (To tell the truth, I think she was loosing track as well.)

JP: Mom, who borned you?

M: Groan

Taste of Tea

J+M+J

When Sarah and her Mom picked up a box of green tea, Sarah thought she would like it as much as she liked herbal tea. But when she brewed a cup later on in the evening, she found it tasted better than any tea she had ever drank before. After experimenting with different time lengths of time brewing, she found it tasted best when brewing it two minutes out of the reccomended one to three. She also thinks the addition of any sugar makes the tea taste horrible.  Sarah’s mother thinks it tastes OK, but nothing special.

My Boy Turns Three

Alexander is very amusing to watch today. If I say “Happy birthday Alex” he may say “Me? Happy?” or he might say “Happy day! Happy day!”as  he is currently running around the house yelling. If you tell him that he is three today he replies “Me? Three? Oh!”

Alexander also realized that there will be cake later on, so since yesterday he has been asking everyone “Where cake? Cake now.”

Before I get to the party pictures, here are some pre-celebration pictures.

Crazy Sarah

We had a fast paced day today, and when we are running around place to place things get a little bit crazy.

Joseph in to the Toilet Paper

Again? That makes three rolls this week!

After play comes my medicine.

Here come the party pictures.

Pointing at the Cake

This what cake looks like after Alexander is done (if you can’t tell there is no frosting on the cake.)
