Rainy Summer Solstice

The first day of summer and the longest day of the year is very rainy and so cloudy you can’t tell if it is noon or evening!

It was quite light out as I rose this morning at 5 a.m. It makes it feel more like time to get up. We had a lovely rain of 6 tenths of an inch. Our ground was so thirsty, it soaked in nicely. This will give Grandpa’s corn & beans a fighting chance with the forecasted temperatures in the mid-nineties for Sunday & Monday. Without this moisture, it may have spelled their demise. I’ve enlisted the help of the Carmelite sisters in Sioux City to pray for beneficial rains for Grandpa’s crops. Guess the flowers can get a drink, too.
